ONLINE DATABASES

The Montvale Public Library subscribes to a number of online databases:

Ancestry is the
largest online genealogy database collection in the world, collecting census, vital, church, court and immigration records. It is available to all patrons on the Montvale Library's public PCs, but can not be accessed remotely.

Britannica is an online digital encyclopedia/learning center available to all patrons on the Montvale Library's public PCs. Please note that Montvale residents with a valid Montvale library card can access Britannica remotely by clicking here.

CountryWatch
provides up-to-date information on every recognized country on Earth. Available to all patrons on the Montvale Library's public PCs, CountryWatch can also be accessed by Montvale residents with a valid Montvale Library card by clicking here.

Financial Ratings rates the financial security banks, credit unions and insurance companies. Available to all patrons on the Montvale Library's public PCs, Financial Ratings can be accessed by Montvale residents with a valid Montvale Library card by clicking here.

Interested in learning a foreign language? Try Mango, an online language-learning system featuring over seventy languages. Mango is available to all patrons on the Montvale Library's public PCs, but Montvale residents with a valid Montvale library card can access Mango remotely by clicking here.

Morningstar provides up-to-date information on stocks and mutual funds.
It is available to all patrons on the Montvale Library's public PCs, but can not be accessed remotely.

The Montvale Public Library now subscribes to Shmoop, an online study tool for high school students. Featuring ACT, PSAT, SAT General & Subject Tests preparation (including practice exams), as well as test prep for over two dozen AP exams, Shmoop also has learning guides on topics such as Algebra, Biology, Economics, Literature and Music. The New Jersey State Library and BCCLS Library Consortium also subscribe to a number of databases:

EBSCO contains a number of databases, including Job & Career Accelerator, Legal Information Reference Center, Literary Reference Center, Novelist and Rosetta Stone. Hoopla is a digital collection of over 200,000 streaming and downloadable movies, TV shows, music, and audiobooks that you can access on your computer or download to a portable device. Montvale residents with a valid Montvale Library card can access Hoopla here.
